Teaching Methodology
My methodology, Baby Musical Playground, teaches English through music, movement, and meaningful connection. I started the methodology in 2008 when I began singing in English to my daughter Gaia, and over the years it has evolved into a joyful, research-based approach for young learners.
Through singing, dancing, and using props and visuals, children learn English the way they learn their first language—through experience and emotion.
Designed for both classrooms and homes, Baby Musical Playground encourages parents and teachers to share music with children as a way to build language, creativity, and connection. Above all, it celebrates the power of music to make learning English fun, natural, and full of love.
The Method
Songs and Chants that teach everyday language and routines
Movement and Dance to reinforce rhythm, coordination, and comprehension
Visuals and Props to support vocabulary retention and storytelling
Emotional and Social Learning to nurture confidence, empathy, and curiosity
In Practice
Each session starts with a warm greeting (“Hello Everyone Hello”) and ends with a cheerful farewell (“Goodbye BMP”).
Lessons integrate:
Songs with illustrated lyrics for visual learning
Instruments like shakers and bells for rhythm and sound awareness
Movement activities that develop motor skills and attention
Seasonal and thematic songs to connect learning with the world around us
