The One Billion Rising project in Bologna

'Break the Chain' CLIL project is an initiative organized by Rachelle Hangsleben, in collaboration with Casa delle donne Bologna, to engage the local school community in the global One Billion Rising movement—a campaign to end violence against women. The project targets all primary, middle, and upper secondary school classes in Bologna, utilizing an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates civic education, physical education, and English. Its core purpose is to raise awareness and promote participation in the fight against gender-based violence, using the "Break the Chain" song and dance as a central means of expression and shared awareness, culminating in a flash mob event.
